💡 "Rehti" (with -i) tells you Hina is female. "Naani" specifically = mother's mother (paternal grandmother = dadi). Urdu always specifies which side of the family.

Naani ne kaha, "Beti, tum kab aao gi?"

Grandmother said, "Daughter, when will you come?"

Hina ne kaha, "Naani, agle saal chhuttiyon mein aaongi."

Hina said, "Grandmother, I will come in the holidays next year."

Naani ne dua di, "Allah tumhein khush rakhe."

Grandmother prayed, "May Allah keep you happy."
